Watermelon Slushy Recipe

Here is my summer heat-reliever: a Watermelon Slushy!

This is one of my new favorite recipes and I made it accidentally! Haha πŸ˜… I had thrown some watermelon in the freezer to get it extra cold for the beach and then I forgot it so it fully froze. I didn’t think defrosted watermelon would be good so I threw it into the blender later on and made a slushy. It was awesome! And the best part? It literally took me 5 minutes to make!

The boys loved it – refreshing, hydrating and delicious! πŸ˜‹ I hope you like it just as much as we do!

Watermelon Slushy πŸ‰

Ingredients:
  • 3-5 cups watermelon
  • 2 cups of ice
  • a little bit of water (for blending)
  • 1 Tbsp of honey (or more, if you like it sweeter)
  • 1 fresh lime
  • a sprig of fresh mint or basil (optional)
Directions:

Chop the watermelon into chunks and put it in the freezer. Once the watermelon is completely frozen, put it in the blender and add the ice. Blend it all up (add a little water here if your blender is having a difficult time creating a smooth consistency). Add honey and squeeze a lime into the concoction. Then mix it all together and it’s ready to go!

Pour into your favorite cups, add mint or basil for garnish and enjoy! 😁

Stay cool this summer!
