New Life
Each holiday is fun in its own way, but I think Easter is the most special holiday of the year because it represents sacrificial love and new life.
The greatest act of sacrificial love is to lay your life down for someone else and that’s exactly what Christ did for us. But it doesn’t stop there! He rose from the grave three days later to bring us new life in Him!
This verse is very well known and it represents the message of Easter really beautifully:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
He sent his dearly loved and only Son down to earth to die a horrible death on a cross, to take our sin upon Himself and ultimately to set us free. How incredible! He died on our behalf (despite our flaws and mistakes) so that we could be reconciled with Him!
Not only that, His resurrection defeated death and gave us the opportunity for eternal life with Christ.
Since we have been justified through faith, Christ’s blood provides a way for us and we have a seat in Heaven.
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
2 Corinthians 5:17
New life with Christ is a wonderful thing! It doesn’t mean that everything is perfect – God states that we will face hardship on this Earth. But it does mean that God will be with us through it all and that we have a hope to look forward to. One day, we will be free from all sin and darkness where there will be no more pain or suffering and we will be joyfully united with God. So beautiful!
When we focus on what God represents in this world – redemption, restoration, peace and love – its so attractive and compelling!
Friends, Christ’s resurrection is our ultimate source of hope, despite our circumstances.
I hope you too can see the Light this Easter,
